[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] Sampyo Group, which has selected robot parking as its new business, participated in the construction expo and showcased the excellence of its unique technology and AGV (automatic guided vehicle) method, the 'MP System'.
SP&Mobility, an affiliate of Sampyo Group (Chairman Jeong Do-won), a construction basic materials specialist, announced on the 26th that it participated in the '2025 Seoul Shinmun Symbiotic Cooperation Construction Expo' held at KINTEX 1st Exhibition Center in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do for four days from the 19th to the 22nd and showcased a robot parking system.
At this Expo, SP&Mobility focused on publicizing the technological prowess of its unique ‘MPSystem’ technology. At the same time, it emphasized its strengths, including its efficiency and convenience in field application, as well as its ability to maximize safety by preventing accidents from falling in existing mechanical parking lots.
The MP system is a technology that combines a parking robot and a transport system in the form of an unmanned transport system (AGV). It can transport vehicles weighing up to 3 tons. A flat parking robot measuring 99 mm in height can enter and move in all directions from the parking storage area in a building, and can lift vehicles while moving vertically freely on each floor to park them tightly even in narrow spaces.
In other words, this means that more parking spaces can be secured in the same space with a minimal facility structure.
In addition to efficient space utilization, it is considered a major strength that construction costs can be reduced by reducing the underground depth and floor height. In addition, the safety of the MP system was emphasized, and the differentiating factors such as fire resistance and semi-permanence due to the concrete vehicle compartment structure, and positive factors for electric vehicle parking due to fire prevention and wireless charging functions were actively promoted.
In particular, by minimizing 'dead space' through unrestricted parallel parking, it is possible to secure a large number of parking spaces in the same space with a different system layout for each project, and is emerging as a new solution to the parking shortage in downtown areas that major cities around the world are commonly suffering from.
Visitors to the MP System booth at the Expo were impressed by the high level of technology and highly evaluated its growth potential. A video visualized with a 3D model was created so that the movements and structures of the robot parking, which may seem somewhat complicated, can be seen at a glance. The purpose is to increase the reliability and understanding of the technology.
With these strengths and world-class robot parking technology at the forefront, MP System technology has been successfully introduced in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, which is notorious for parking difficulties and traffic congestion, and is expanding to Europe and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), so attention is being paid to what impact it will have on domestic application.
Semperem has successfully completed robot parking system projects in Thailand, Europe, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mexico, Hungary, and Spain. Recently, it has received a contract for a 1,000-car parking facility in Dubai and is preparing to install it.
Sampyo Group and Semper M, which possesses world-class robot parking technology, established a joint venture, SP&Mobility, in 2022. SP&Mobility will handle the domestic sales of MP System, and Semper M will handle the overseas sales. Semper M has been carrying out large-scale projects such as exporting MP System to Europe and Southeast Asia, starting with Mexico in 2016.
An official from SP&Mobility said, “As the transportation network expands, the importance of parking and safety is growing by the day,” and added, “We will do our best to secure competitiveness while devoting ourselves to fundamental technology development so that the strengths of MP System’s robot parking technology can be applied to various fields.”
