'KAIST Professor' G-Dragon, Going into Space?... First Korean to Release Sound Source and Music Video "New History Since the Beatles"

 

[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] Singer G-Dragon's music is going into space. This is through a project in collaboration with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where G-Dragon is a visiting professor.

 

Galaxy Corporation, G-Dragon's agency, announced that G-Dragon will be carrying out the 'G-Dragon Space Sound Source Transmission Project' at the KAIST Space Research Institute, where he will be transmitting his music and music videos into space.

 

G-Dragon's music video to be sent into space on this day was produced using 'Sora', a video generation AI model by OpenAI, the developer of 'ChatGPT', and is known to have been created through collaboration between Microsoft (MS), OpenAI's largest investor and strategic partner, and Galaxy Corporation.

 

This project is linked to NASA's SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) project, which transmitted the music of the legendary rock band The Beatles into space.

 

NASA, which launched the SETI Project to search for intelligent life forms living in outer space, broadcast the Beatles' signature song 'Across the Universe' toward the North Star in 2008, the 50th anniversary of its founding.

 

Galaxy Corporation evaluated his attempt, saying, “He is also a visiting professor at KAIST’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, and his work will become a future milestone in ‘entertech,’ which encompasses space science, artificial intelligence (AI), and the entertainment industry,” adding, “It is an artistic experiment that goes beyond a simple musical attempt and attempts to permanently preserve human culture in space and communicate with other civilizations.”
