[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] Celltrion announced on the 15th that it was the only domestic bio company to be selected as a global top 5% company in the biotechnology sector of the 'Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA)' conducted by the global credit rating agency S&P Global.

CSA conducts ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) evaluations of approximately 7,690 companies worldwide, selects the top companies in each industry, and lists them in the 'Sustainability Yearbook 2025'. Among them, separate trophies are awarded to companies in the top 1%, 5%, and 10%.

Celltrion was recognized for its sustainable management competitiveness in the biotechnology sector and was selected as a top 5% company with the highest score among domestic companies. There are only five companies in the top 5% in the biotechnology sector worldwide.

Celltrion is strategically pursuing ESG management with the vision of ‘building a sustainable medical service ecosystem based on ESG management.’ In 2022, it established an ESG organization directly under the CEO and organized an ESG committee under the board of directors to systematically strengthen its competitiveness in each ESG field.

In the environmental sector, we have set a goal of 'Net Zero by 2045' and are systematically managing greenhouse gas emissions. In particular, we are in the process of conducting and expanding product-specific evaluations by establishing a life cycle assessment (LCA) roadmap to manage all impacts of products on the environment.

In the social sector, we conduct an annual human rights satisfaction and employee participation survey to reflect the results in improving the work environment and organizational culture, and based on this, we were selected as the ‘Best Employment Company in Korea’ by the Ministry of Employment and Labor last year. In addition, we are promoting a supply chain diversification strategy for major raw materials to prepare for potential supply chain risks and are upgrading the ESG-based evaluation system.

In terms of governance, more than half of the board of directors are independent outside directors, and the board of directors operates an audit committee, performance compensation committee, outside director candidate recommendation committee, ESG committee, etc. to efficiently perform its role. In addition, it is striving to increase shareholder value through measures such as purchasing and burning treasury stocks and deciding on the largest cash and stock dividends ever.

Meanwhile, the awards ceremony was held at 10 a.m. at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. Lee Dong-jin, head of Celltrion’s Sustainability Management Division, attended the ceremony and received a trophy.
