Dongwon F&B is advancing into the global market with its laver, tea processed beverages, and rice processed foods. The main exhibited item is 'Yangban Kim' grown in the clean waters of Korea. Yangban Kim, the number one domestic seasoned laver market, is currently exported to about 30 countries including the US, Japan, and Thailand, thanks to the global interest in Korean laver. Dongwon F&B is expanding its product line to include snacks such as laver bugak.
In addition, 'Boseong Green Tea' made from organic tea leaves from Boseong, Jeollanam-do, a natural green tea specialty complex, has attracted much attention from buyers from around the world looking for healthy drinks.
Dongwon Home Food showcased various sauce products from 'VIVID KITCHEN' with the concept of 'Everything about K-Sauce'. They exhibited kimchi salsa and kimchi chipotle mayo made with fermented food kimchi, as well as Korean cooking sauces such as gochujang and bulgogi, as well as low-calorie sauces that have sold over 10 million units in Korea. They also collaborated with local influencers in the US to broadcast a live cooking show using VIVID KITCHEN sauces.
Vivid Kitchen sauces began exporting to the US, Australia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, etc. last year, and in particular, they were ranked among the top sellers in the sauce category on the US e-commerce site Amazon. Vivid Kitchen’s export target for this year is 30 billion won.
A Dongwon F&B official said, “We participated in this exhibition to understand the needs of global buyers for K-food and to discover K-food tailored to local markets around the world,” adding, “We plan to increase the proportion of overseas sales to 20% through active research and development and securing local distribution networks in the future.”
