[NewsSpace=JeongYoung Kim]  Amidst the tumultuous scenes unfolding at the 25th World Scout Jamboree (Jamboree), the decisive intervention of Samsung Electronics has emerged as the pivotal force to salvage the chaos, prompting the question, "Where would Korea be without Samsung?“

In a proactive effort to aid the ongoing 25th World Scout Jamboree (Jamboree) crisis, which has been severely affected by the continuous scorching heatwave and inadequate facilites, Lee Jae-Yong, the Chairman of Samsung Electronics, has taken steps to offer substantial assistance.

Samsung Electronics has introduced additional support measures, commencing from the 7th of this month, to ensure the smooth operation of Jamboree. These measures include the deployment of company employees and the initiation of Samsung's workplace factory tour program.

In conjunction with the previously extended aid, which encompassed activities such as dispatching a medical support team from Samsung Medical Center, providing temporary restroom facilities and electric carts, as well as donating 200,000 health beverages, Samsung has now extended further assistance to Jamboree.

Originally a sponsor of the event, Samsung Electronics took their commitment to the next level, distributing smartphone auxiliary batteries (battery packs) to all participating scouts, an initiative valued at an estimated 1.7 to 3 billion KRW ($1.4 to $2.5 million USD).

Starting from the 7th, approximately 150 newly-hired employees will be dispatched to the event site. Samsung employees will actively participate in environmental beautification activities, such as waste segregation and volunteering efforts, to support the endeavors of other volunteers.

Samsung Electronics is also set to organize an 'Open Campus' factory tour program for Jamboree participants. This program will allow scout students to visit either the Pyeongtaek or Hwaseong semiconductor factories, as well as the Suwon Samsung Innovation Museum (SIM). A total of around 550 scout members will be able to partake in this program each day.

A medical support team from Samsung Seoul Hospital, comprising five doctors, four nurses, and two support personnel, arrived at the site on the previous day (5th) and immediately began medical activities. The team includes specialized pediatricians to provide appropriate care for children and adolescents. Additionally, one mobile clinic and an ambulance were provided to ensure comprehensive medical support.

The Samsung medical support team is committed to providing healthcare services until the conclusion of the event on the 12th, ensuring the well-being of all participants throughout the Jamboree activities.

Samsung's proactive stance has spurred other corporations to action, hastening the development of their own support strategies to assist Jamboree.

Hyundai Development Company (HD) sent an emergency team of 120 employees on the 5th to assist in on-site maintenance and restroom facilities using self-prepared equipment. On the 6th, LG Group pledged support by providing 200,000 bottles of water and ion drinks, along with 300 MQ tents for rest areas and 10,000 portable fans.

In these times of national crisis, many in the industry regard Samsung and HD as the first to act. Samsung, being the industry leader and possessing exceptional crisis management capabilities, often sets the benchmark for others. HD, in contrast, responds swiftly without hesitation and is known for its proactive approach to philanthropy and support.
