[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] LG Display (CEO Jeong Cheol-dong) is implementing a delivery service using AI-based autonomous driving robots, significantly improving employee convenience and enhancing work productivity.
An outdoor delivery service using delivery robots from 'Woowa Brothers' will be launched from the coffee shop located in the Paju business site to the entrance of the building where employees work, such as the office and factory buildings. This is the first outdoor robot delivery service in an industrial complex in Korea.
The delivery robot quickly recognizes surrounding objects and obstacles, and safely moves between buildings within the Paju business site at a speed of 1.5 m/s, similar to the speed at which a person walks quickly.
The Paju business site, which is about the size of 150 soccer fields, takes more than 30 minutes to walk round trip to the workplace that is farthest from the franchise coffee shop.
With the introduction of this robot delivery service, the distance and time employees travel will be greatly reduced. Orders can also be placed conveniently through the mobile application. The pilot service will be held until the 18th, and full-scale commercial service will begin on the 21st.
LG Display plans to continuously improve employee convenience by listening to employee opinions in the future and expanding the robot delivery service items from coffee to hamburgers and adding operating robots.
An LG Display official said, “We will improve employee satisfaction and work productivity not only through robot delivery services but also through continuous DX management innovation using AI.”
