[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] Dong-A Pharmaceutical (CEO Baek Sang-hwan) announced on the 10th that its cold medicine brand Panpyrin was ranked first in the cold medicine category of the '2025 Korea Brand Power Index (K-BPI)' hosted by the Korea Productivity Association Consulting (KMAC) for the second consecutive year.
The Korea Brand Power Index (K-BPI) is a system in which the Korea Productivity Association Consulting selects and certifies brands that represent Korean consumer life through consumer surveys and evaluations every year. This year, a survey was conducted on a total of 235 industries, including 92 consumer goods, through one-on-one interviews with 12,800 consumers.
Panpyrin ranked first in all sub-indicators of 'brand awareness', which refers to the degree to which a specific brand can be recognized or recalled, including ▲first recognition ▲unaided recognition ▲aided recognition. In addition, it received the highest evaluation in categories such as ▲brand image ▲purchase possibility ▲preference in 'brand loyalty', which indicates the degree of favorability and attachment to a specific brand, compared to other brands.
Panpyrin, which celebrates its 64th anniversary this year, is an 'early Korean cold medicine' that is effective for colds, fever, headaches, and chills. It sells two products: Panpyrin Q in liquid form for pharmacies and Panpyrin Tea in tablet form for convenience stores.
In particular, Panpyrin Q, which is considered the original liquid cold medicine, can be easily taken without water, and one bottle can quickly relieve various symptoms of colds, from chills and fever to cough, runny nose, and sore throat. Its small size makes it easy to carry when traveling or going out.
Based on the trust of a thick consumer base, Panpyrin sold more than 100 million bottles annually as of 2022. This figure is equivalent to selling 3 bottles per second, continuing the tradition of being a steady seller.
A Dong-A Pharmaceutical official said, “We were able to win first place in the cold medicine category for two consecutive years because of consumers’ trust and affection for our products,” and added, “We hope that Panpyrin, which contains six complex ingredients, will help alleviate the early symptoms of a cold.”
