[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] The '2025 Osaka Kansai World Expo' Korea Pavilion pop-up store, operated by KORAIL Distribution (CEO Park Jeong-hyeon), will officially open on April 13.
The '2025 Osaka Kansai World Expo' (hereinafter referred to as Osaka Expo) will be held for six months from April 13 to October 13 on the artificial island of Yumeshima in Osaka, and is one of the world's three largest international events with 158 countries participating.
This pop-up store focuses on supporting the global expansion of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises and promoting Korean cultural products to the world.
Korail Distribution selected 45 companies through the vendor selection committee on December 18th last year, and around 300 products from these companies will be sold at the pop-up store.
The main products include ▲Beauty (skin care, shampoo, etc.) ▲Food (traditional food ingredients and snacks such as soy sauce and sesame oil) ▲K-POP goods (photocards, keychains, etc.).
Through this, KORAIL Distribution plans to introduce various Korean brands to visitors from around the world and actively support the expansion of overseas sales channels for small and medium-sized enterprises.
In addition, in cooperation with the Korea Tourism Organization, we will operate a special product zone to support the entry into the global market of the winning works in the souvenir category of the 'Korea Tourism Contest'. To this end, we signed a business agreement with the Korea Tourism Organization on the 9th and plan to introduce representative tourist souvenirs of Korea to overseas consumers.
The product zone will display Korean-style souvenirs such as yakgwa, saekdong wind chimes, and hanbok brooches from eight companies selected through a contest. In addition, a promotional video will be produced to be broadcast within the Korean Pavilion to actively promote the appeal of Korean culture and souvenirs.
Korail Distribution will also provide customized services for local customers. In December of last year, it selected young interns through an overseas internship agreement with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and they will provide English and Japanese guidance services to visitors from Japan and abroad.
A Korail Distribution official said, “We are working with a sense of mission to introduce Korea’s excellent products and culture at the Osaka Expo site, where the world’s attention is focused,” and added, “We will do our best to systematically operate and meticulously manage the site so that it can lead to successful results.”
