[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] LS plans to strengthen economic cooperation in the electricity, energy, and agriculture sectors that are in urgent need of post-war reconstruction and recovery in Ukraine.

To this end, LS Vice Chairman Myung-Noh Hyun stayed in Kiev, Ukraine in early April and met with ministers and CEOs from relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Economy, and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, to explore the possibility of mutual cooperation centered on restoring energy transmission and distribution networks, including ESS (Energy Storage Systems), and supporting agricultural infrastructure.

Previously, LS provided five agricultural machines, including tractors and loaders, to Ukraine in 2023, and this year, it provided one ESS unit to be used in places where temporary power supply is needed, building a relationship with the Ukrainian government, which led to this meeting.

First, Vice Chairman Myung met with Roman Andarak, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, and CEOs of major companies. He introduced LS Group’s strengths in power infrastructure, such as power generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as ESS and energy technologies, and discussed comprehensive and long-term cooperation plans for building and restoring Ukraine’s power ecosystem.

He then met with Vitaliy Koval, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine, and discussed ways to cooperate in the tractor sector in relation to the recovery of the agricultural industry damaged by the war, and decided to specify future details. In particular, there was active discussion on cooperation with LS to recover the 75% of local tractors lost due to the war, and the possibility of a bioenergy business was also reviewed.

In addition, in a meeting with Andrii TELIUPA, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, and others, the participation plan for the entire reconstruction project and the possibility of investment and cooperation by the LS Group were discussed, raising expectations for future cooperation in various fields, including policy support.

In addition, Vice Chairman Myung met with key figures from major companies, including the international construction giant ONUR Group and the Ukrainian renewable energy company Eco-Optima Group, to confirm the possibility of promoting joint projects with LS’s power equipment as a means of energy and infrastructure cooperation and explore comprehensive cooperation plans.

Vice Chairman Myung No-hyun said, “Through this business trip, LS Group has laid the foundation for playing an important role as a partner in the reconstruction of Ukraine, and we will continue to strive to achieve mutual win-win results through a strong and long-term partnership with Ukraine with the goal of sustainable development.”
