[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] From the end of last year to the beginning of this year, E-Mart and Traders have been embroiled in controversy over counterfeit products.
E-Mart and Traders quickly took refund measures after a Stussy man-to-man sold by a partner company was embroiled in a controversy over whether it was a counterfeit product.
According to the distribution industry on the 7th, the American street fashion brand Stussy is also popular among the younger generation in Korea. The man-to-man sold by partner company A at event spaces inside and outside E-Mart and Traders stores was not an official Stussy import product, but a parallel import product. It is known that this is different from the official product.
E-Mart explained, "The product in question, which has become a problem due to the counterfeit controversy, was sold by a partner company in event spaces inside and outside the store," and "We are thoroughly verifying the authenticity of the product through various verification agencies in consultation with the partner company."
A YouTuber previously reported that the price of a Stussy man-to-man purchased from Traders was too low compared to the price of a genuine product, so he requested an appraisal from a luxury appraisal center and a second-hand goods trading platform. As a result, he uploaded a video saying that it was determined to be a counterfeit. In the video, the appraisal center stated that the logo finish, label, and components of the product were different from the genuine product.
E-Mart explained, "We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the controversy over counterfeit products sold by our company." They added, "When the controversy arose, we immediately stopped selling the products in question and are quickly proceeding with the full refund process for customers who wish to receive a refund."
The refund amount is approximately 1000 points.
On December 29th of last year, E-Mart also recalled two Moncler padding products that were suspected to be counterfeit and sold as parallel imports by warehouse discount store Traders Wholesale Club. Moncler is an Italian brand famous for its expensive padding.
The products subject to recall are Moncler women's Hermifur padding and men's Cluny padding sold at six Traders stores (Hanam, Goyang, Guseong, Songlim, Wiryeseong, and Suwon) from October 22 to December 15.
The total number of products sold so far is 30. E-Mart said that they will contact each customer individually to inform them of the product recall and issue a full refund.
Recently, there was controversy over padding sold through the fashion brand Who Are You due to its different filling ratio from the actual content.
