[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] Kolmar Korea has won two awards at the world's most prestigious beauty awards, known as the 'Oscars of the Cosmetics Industry.' Kolmar Korea is the only company in the world to have won awards in two categories.
Kolmar Korea announced that it won two Cosmopack Awards at the 56th Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2025, held in Bologna, Italy from the 20th to the 23rd (local time). Kolmar Korea won the grand prize in two categories: ▲Innovation Technology and ▲Sustainability.
The Cosmoprof/Cosmopack Awards are hosted by Cosmoprof, the world's largest comprehensive beauty trade show that began in 1967. Cosmoprof awards finished products, while Cosmopack awards manufacturing, packaging, and auxiliary materials, and is an event that highlights the entire cosmetics industry ecosystem. Every year, the most innovative products and technologies are selected through evaluation by a panel of judges comprised of global cosmetics companies and beauty experts. This year, a total of 836 companies from around the world participated, and 11 products were awarded in each category.
With this award, Korea Kolmar has been recognized for its innovative technology and sustainability that leads the global beauty market. This is the result of focusing on developing core technologies that will lead the future beauty industry, such as AI, hyper-personalization, and eco-friendliness.
Korea Kolmar's 'CAIOME' won the grand prize in the innovative technology category. CAIOME is a platform that provides AI-based skin microbiome diagnosis and customized skincare solutions. It analyzes beneficial and harmful bacteria on the skin to help prescribe customized cosmetics for each individual. With the simple method of using a cotton swab that is lightly rubbed on the skin, soaked in a reagent, and then dropped a few drops onto the kit, the skin microbiome ecosystem can be analyzed in less than 5 minutes.
It also provides up to hundreds of thousands of personalized skin solutions. It received excellent reviews as an example of applying the hyper-personalization trend to AI innovation technology. In January, Korea Kolmar participated in the world's largest information technology (IT) and home appliance exhibition 'CES 2025' held in Las Vegas, USA, and attracted much attention by introducing Kaiom.
In the sustainability category, the eco-friendly raw material 'ECO-PULSE™ Centella' won the grand prize. ECO-PULSE™ Centella is an extract of Centella asiatica, known to be effective in soothing the skin, and is a raw material for which Kolmar Korea has obtained a patent. This raw material was developed based on Kolmar Korea's excellent eco-friendly technology.
By utilizing a non-heating, eco-friendly method, we succeeded in saving energy during the extraction process and reducing carbon emissions by more than 20%. In particular, it has attracted attention as a raw material that maximizes skin soothing effects by extracting effective ingredients of the plant, such as madecassoside and madecassic acid, in a shorter period of time than existing methods.
A representative of Kolmar Korea said, “This award is the result of combining the research and development capabilities accumulated over the past 35 years with the latest trends and innovative convergence technologies,” and added, “We will continue to conduct research and development to bring new innovations to the global beauty industry.”
