[News Space=Reporter seungwon lee] Il Dong Bioscience (CEO Oh-Hyeon Ban), a subsidiary of Il Dong Pharmaceutical Group, announced on the 24th that it has obtained 'NON-GMO' certification for its functional raw material probiotics.
NON-GMO refers to products, goods, raw materials, and materials that do not contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
Ildong Bioscience recently received NON-GMO certification for 20 of its probiotic strains from the NON-GMO PROJECT, the most credible verification organization in North America.
According to the certification criteria of the NON-GMO PROJECT, ▲GMOs must not be used or included, ▲the source and supply chain must be clearly traceable, and ▲high-risk ingredients must be tested for GMO contamination by a third party.
In addition, ▲cross-contamination management must be implemented for manufacturing facilities, ▲education on product handling, recall, and safety must be provided, and ▲regular inspections and monitoring must be conducted even after certification.
The company explained that this NON-GMO certification will further increase the reliability of the probiotic raw materials and products it produces and supplies, and will allow it to effectively communicate the quality level to consumers.
An official from Ildong Bioscience said, “We plan to expand our global certification efforts to reflect the market trend of seeking safe and healthy food, and actively utilize it to conquer overseas markets as well as the domestic market.”
Ildong Bioscience is a health functional food company affiliated with Ildong Holdings established in 2016 based on Ildong Pharmaceutical's original technology and infrastructure related to lactic acid bacteria.
